PROJECT TICK CONTRIBUTOR LICENSE AGREEMENT Version 3, 12 April 2026 Copyright (C) 2026 Project Tick Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies of this license document, but changing it is not allowed. Preamble This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") applies to all contributions submitted to projects maintained within the Project Tick ecosystem, regardless of the contributor's country of residence or place of submission. PROJECT TICK CONTRIBUTOR LICENSE AGREEMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. Definitions. "Contribution" means any code, documentation, design, data, or other material intentionally submitted by you to a Project Tick project for inclusion in a Work. "Work" means any Project Tick project or component to which the Contribution is submitted. 2. Authority and Right to Contribute. You represent and confirm that: (a) you have the legal right and authority to submit the Contribution; (b) the Contribution is your original work, or you have obtained all necessary rights, permissions, or licenses to submit it under this Agreement; and (c) to the best of your knowledge, the Contribution does not infringe any copyright, patent, trademark, or other proprietary right of any third party. 3. Grant of Copyright License. You hereby grant Project Tick and all downstream recipients a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable copyright license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, sublicense, and convey your Contribution as part of the Work, under the terms of the applicable Project Tick license. This license grant applies to all current and future forms of distribution of the Work permitted by the applicable license. 4. License Consistency and Relicensing. You acknowledge that Project Tick maintains a family of licenses and that Contributions are integrated for long-term governance. Accordingly, you agree that your Contribution may be distributed under the applicable Project Tick license governing the Work, including future versions of that license or other Project Tick licenses where explicitly permitted by their terms. Once your Contribution has been accepted into a Work, you agree not to assert any right to revoke, withdraw, or relicense the Contribution independently of the Work, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. 5. No Warranty and No Obligation. You provide the Contribution "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. You are not required to provide support, maintenance, updates, or ongoing services for the Contribution. Project Tick is under no obligation to accept, use, maintain, or distribute any Contribution. 6. No Additional Restrictions. You agree not to impose any legal, contractual, technical, or policy- based restrictions on the use of your Contribution that would conflict with this Agreement or with the applicable Project Tick license. 7. Governing Law and Interpretation. This Agreement is intended to be applied globally. It shall be interpreted in a manner that gives maximum effect to the permissions and intentions expressed herein, consistent with applicable local law. If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable under applicable law, such provision shall be interpreted or limited only to the extent necessary to render it enforceable, without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions. 8. Grant of Patent License. You hereby grant to Project Tick and all downstream recipients a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, sell, offer for sale, import, and otherwise transfer the Contribution, where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable by you that are necessarily infringed by your Contribution. If you initiate patent litigation against any entity alleging that the Work or a Contribution infringes a patent, then any patent licenses granted to you under this Agreement shall terminate as of the date such litigation is filed. 9. Developer Certification. By submitting a Contribution, you certify that you have the right to submit it under this Agreement and that the Contribution complies with the Developer Certificate of Origin (DCO), as defined and published by Project Tick. 10. Inbound = Outbound. Unless otherwise explicitly stated, any Contribution intentionally submitted to a Work shall be licensed under the same terms as the Work's governing license. 11. No Trademark License. This Agreement does not grant any rights to use the trademarks, service marks, trade names, or branding of Project Tick, except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the origin of the Work. 12. Contribution Metadata. Project Tick may record, store, and publish metadata associated with Contributions, including contributor identity, timestamps, review status, and cryptographic sign-offs, for purposes of traceability, compliance, and governance. 13. Acceptance of Contributions. A Contribution shall be considered accepted when it is merged, committed, or otherwise incorporated into the Work by a Project Tick maintainer or automated integration system. 14. Contributions on Behalf of an Organization. If you submit a Contribution on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to this Agreement, and that the organization accepts the terms of this Agreement. 15. Scope of Contributions. A Contribution includes any material intentionally submitted to a Project Tick project, including but not limited to submissions made via version control systems, issue trackers, code review systems, mailing lists, or any other communication channels designated by Project Tick for collaboration. 16. Contributor Identity. You may submit Contributions using a pseudonym. However, you remain responsible for ensuring that you have the legal authority to submit the Contribution under this Agreement. 17. Automated Contributions. Contributions may be processed, reviewed, or integrated by automated systems. Such automated actions shall be considered valid acts of Project Tick for the purposes of this Agreement. 18. Removal of Contributions. Project Tick reserves the right to remove, revert, or otherwise exclude any Contribution from a Work at any time, without obligation or liability. 19. No Relationship. Nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to create any partnership, joint venture, or fiduciary relationship between you and Project Tick. 20. Compliance with Laws. You agree that your Contributions comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including export control laws where applicable. 21. Irrevocability. All rights granted under this Agreement are irrevocable, except as expressly stated herein. PROJECT TICK CONTRIBUTOR LICENSE AGREEMENT END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
